TO OUR WOMEN: STAND UNITED

03/01/2011

You’ve been silenced for long
As if in the society you don’t belong
To look deeply the history
You played vital role in politics, society and economy

You are recognized only new
Product of the struggles you do
Yet, remained questions in the air
Patriarchy ruled and put you in fear

The society continued to humiliate
Blamed you and undermined you as well
Nobody stand to fight for you before
Except when you started your own battle

You carried the heavy burden of domestic works
Seems you carried the world with nobody cares
You gave life to those children of future
And remained nobody cares

You do not need mercy
You do not need empathy
You do not need mercy
What you need is change in our society

Society did not able to see
You produce food and run the economy
You gave birth to the most basic unit of all
You labored for long for your family

Stand without fright our dears
United to end all forms of violence
No more humiliation! No more discrimination!
No more commoditization! Oppression no more!

Fathers and brothers dear, a demand is here
Do we really care for those who gave birth to us?
Or you only portrayed as if for your prestige?
No fake this time, let’s break the culture of silence!

Break that arrogance inside from generations
End that inhumane treatment to anybody around
Mothers, Sisters, Partners, Friends, Strangers and Comrades
All over the world and those beside you

This is the honor we must be proud of
Standing with our women against the wall
Pushing for a struggle for one and all
For triumph we must stand united!
