This poster was made by an eight year old girl - "Don't Burn Our Future! Stop Air Strikes!" it says.

The armed confrontations between the Maute-Abu Sayyaf group and Philippine forces burned down and literally flattened Marawi City.

Defending Marawi should not only mean police and armed security but also defending the inter-cultural and inter-faith relationships among the populations that have been built and worked out by many martyrs for a long time already.

Rebuilding Marawi does not only mean construction of houses and infrastructures but importantly putting its population center to the rebuilding and in healing biases between and among peoples.

Rebuilding Marawi must be a space for real inclusive and community and peoples'-based discourse of governance and the peoples' democratic rights including the Right to Self Determination and Ancestral Domains questions.
